The Cut Out Fashion Trend

Following hot on the heels of the underwear as outerwear trend and sheer clothing comes another women’s fashion trend which is all about exposing your skin. We have labelled it the cut out trend as it seems like all the designers this Spring/Summer are choosing to cut intricate patterns into their garments! Think slashed leggings, trousers and jeans which give a glimpse of leg all the way through, or tops with lattice or criss-cross patterns cut out the middle in order to produce a modified sheer effect.

Please do not think of this trend as promiscuous for one second. The major designer labels sent models down the runway in outfits that were slashed to expose glimpses of flesh, which is far more sexy and chic than just wearing a skimpy top and mini skirt. You should look to wear these items like you would sheer garments I.E. do not forget your layering underneath and over the top, and only use one or two pieces within your outfit at once. For those that do not like the thought of exposing their body in this way, you can look for accessories such as belts, shoes and scarves which have all been given the cut out treatment this Spring/Summer.

For those that cannot wait to flaunt their skin, remember that in order to look your very best you should exfoliate regularly and apply body lotion. If you are going for that golden glowing effect beneath your clothes this year, please step away from the sun beds and go the self tan route… that way your skin will stay gorgeous and youthful and you will stay safe.

Trend Setters

At Givenchy there were white puffy dresses with intricate cut work embroidery which resulted in a sheer panelling effect:
